About the Event

The 2021 Ultra Bird is now open for registration! We will keep our current COVID-19 Rule and regulations as follows, and advise runners if these change: - 100 Runners Max - No SHARED food at aid stations or post-race meals. - Social Distancing encouraged at the State and Finish Lines.

Event Details

Myles the Ultra Bird is back in 2020 for the 4th year of the Ultra Bird Trail Races! One of the only timed 12HR and 6HR Ultra running events in West Michigan. THIS YEAR WE CUP-LESS! Thanks to Gazelle Sports (Holland, MI), every runner will receive a FREE collapsible Gazelle Cup for the event! (Bring water bottles as well that you would like to use!) This year we will have more food and fun events for kids and families planned! Saturday OCT 24: 12HR, 6HR, 5k and 10k 12HR 8:00AM 6HR:2:00PM 5K: 12:00 NOON 10K: 12:00 NOON. Prizes for top 3 male and female for all events! Prizes will be announced soon!

Course

All runners will start and finish at the Pigeon Creek Ski Lodge. Runners will race on a 5k loop on the well groomed and scenic trails of Pigeon Creek. Elevation gain per loop is around 165 ft. One "bigger" steady climb with a big downhill per loop. *We want to note that the park will still be open to the public during our event due to Ottawa County Parks regulations. We will have signage and the trails will be marked where runners will be running so that people will be well aware there is an event taking place, however we cannot legally instruct people to stay off the trails and out of the park. Please join us in showing respect and professionalism to all people at the park on race day! We take pride in "sharing our trails" and we ask that you do as well!

CHIP TIMING

NEW THIS YEAR: All Egress Endurance Events will be Chip Timed!

12 & 6 Hour Rules

12 HR race starts at 8:00am 6 HR race starts at 2:00pm Both races will end at 8:00PM LAST LOOP RULE: If you come into the Start/Finish 15 Minutes before cut off (7:45PM), you may elect to go out for one (1) final loop. You MUST start your final loop AT or BEFORE 7:45PM! There are no bonus loops for this event. DROPPING: You may drop AT ANY TIME. You do NOT need to run the whole amount of time that you have signed up for. That is the beauty of a "timed-ultra"!

Race Accommodations:

Parking will be available on site Pigeon Creek County Park within walking distance of the start/finish. Address for Pigeon Creek Park: 12524 Stanton Street, West Olive, MI 49460 There will be an aid station at the start/finish as well a a place for "drop bags". We will have hydration, trail snacks/food, Tailwind Products and amazing volunteers and staff to keeping motivating you to the finish! Bathrooms will be available at the start/finish (We will have 2 porta-johns and a permanent bathroom at the trails. Total of 3.) There are many hotels and great places to stay within a 10 mile radius in beautiful Holland, MI!

2021 SWAG coming soon! Each Runner will receive a NEW, custom, Ultra Bird WOODEN medal this year!

Pacers

Pacers ARE allowed for the 12 and 6 hour events. Pacers can be picked up at 4:00pm for both events till the Finish. All pacers need to check in at the start/finish and sign a wavier before they start pacing their runner.

Packet Pick Up

2020 Packet Pick Up. Located outside the lodge at Pigeon Creek Park. Friday 10/23/20: 5:00pm - 7:30pm Saturday 10/24/20: 7:15am - up untill 10-min before each event start.

Charity Partners

We have the honor of partnering with the Holland Rescue Mission for this event. A percent of all proceeds will go to helping both these amazing organizations continue their mission in helping others!

Cancellation, Refunds and Bib-Transfers

This event will be held rain or shine! There are NO refunds for this event, you may however transfer your Bib to another runner or to another Egress Endurance Event. (Different in event price will not be refunded if any, and “balance” of event differences needs to be paid if transferring event is more expensive.) If a bib-transfer needs to take place please reach out to jason@egressendurance.com

12&6 HR Requirements

All 12&6 HR runners will need to bring a head lamp.
